History
The last heir to a family of legendary bards, a legacy torn away by tragedy and terrorizing, waking nightmares. Born with a silver spoon, a good name, and an unparalleled genius, his parents raised him in the shining city of Sharlayan for his future match as one of its scholars. But his brilliance proved more than useful for mere academics, research, and music; his mind was not one to waste and neither did the Forum allow it so. Though gaining a seat with the Forum had been a dream come true, it would one day become his resentment, for one day his parents' death would become his living trauma and regret.A missing couple the word had spread, an incident Deirbhile would constantly tell himself he could have prevented. The old poet and his muse were taken by sea, lured in one after the other by spell; really it was a tragic accident that sounds akin to a bard's warning tale. Though the full story would remain unknown, their son had been the one to find them later washed ashore. Jaws agape, eyes eaten away, gone of all color, gone, gone, gone. The overwhelming shock would engrave this image in his head for the rest of his days - it would drive him mad.He would wake, he would see them, he would scream, cry, beg for it all to stop. No moment would go without seeing his poor parents and their gruesome last moments manifest itself, so much so that it had affected his work.How could they not see it too?The Forum would judge him as a madman, no one could believe what he had to say- and some even came to believe he killed his dear family. And yet for all the gods they believed in, their Mothercrystal and Her callings, he was too much, his nightmares were asinine.Outcast by his own livelihood, he would later be found by a man seeking past that insanity, recognized for his unwavering genius despite all. His mind and words would become a weapon; with his intelligence and keen perception, interrogation and deception is his specialty. One would say he seems too fragile, too broken for such dirty work- the Forum would say so, he is sure they would... but someone found his new potential after all, and that spite propels him.Maybe it is better that they could not see.
